Abstract
S, 45 YEARS OLD IN THE ASHOKA ROOM AT MUARA TEWEH REGIONAL HOSPITAL IN 2024 John Fredy, Selly Kresna Dewi [email protected] ABSTRACT Background: In North Barito Regency, especially in Muara Teweh Regional Hospital, cases of cervical cancer are still occurring with the latest data showing a significant number of patients in various treatment units. Based on data on cervical cancer cases in the outpatient and inpatient rooms at Muara Teweh Regional Hospital in 2023, the incidence of cervical cancer in the number of patients was 12 in the obstetrics room, 3 people in the PONEK room, and 17 people in the obstetrics room. Then data from January-July 2024 showed that there were 10 people in the Gynecology Polyclinic, 3 people in the PONEK Room and 7 in the midwifery room. Cervical cancer is a malignancy that occurs due to uncontrolled growth of cervical epithelial cells, with 99.7% of cases caused by oncogenic Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) infection due to unsafe sexual intercourse. Patients who have just been diagnosed with cervical cancer often experience quality of life problems and chronic stress, both physical and psychological, one of which is anxiety. If this anxiety is allowed to continue without therapy it can cause various complications. To prevent this, one of the treatments for anxiety in cancer patients is the Guided Imagery relaxation technique (guided imagination). Objective: This case study is to determine the effect of the Guided Imagery relaxation technique on changes in anxiety in patients with suspected cervical cancer in the Asoka Room at Muara Teweh Regional Hospital. Method: This scientific paper uses a descriptive method, using interviews, observation and application of the Guided Imagery relaxation technique to the patient Mrs. S. Results: The results showed that the patient's anxiety was reduced after the Guided Imagery relaxation technique intervention with a duration of 10-15 minutes for 2 days from 10-11 July 2024. Conclusion: Based on the patient's progress notes, the implementation of the Guided Imagery relaxation technique intervention on Mrs. S with anxiety (Anxiety) experienced a good decrease.
