Abstract
EFFECT OF BOOKLET MEDIA EDUCATION ABOUT PREVENTION OF DIABETIC FOOT ULCERS TOWARD KNOWLEDGE OF DIABETES MELLITUS TYPE 2 PATIENTS IN PUSKESMAS TELUK DALAM BANJARMASIN IN 2020 Ester Elizabeth Kartini1, Chrisnawati2, Bernadeta Trihandinit3 ABSTRACT Background: One non-communicable disease that threatens human health in the 21st century is Diabetes Mellitus. Diabetes mellitus is a problem in the foot that requires treatment and long-term care needs to be done to weaken the diabetic foot, which often contains foot ulcers. Knowledge in diabetic patients needs to be avoided from diabetic ulcers and amputations. High knowledge about diabetes mellitus raises a positive attitude in order to support the secondary challenges of diabetes mellitus. Research Objectives: This study aims to analyze the Effect of Media Book Education About Prevention of Diabetic Foot Ulcers on the Knowledge of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Patients in Teluk Dalam Banjarmasin Health Center in 2020. Method: This research is quantitative research. The design in this study was a pre-experimental design with a One Group Pretest Posttest study with a nonprobability sampling technique with participation and a sample of 15 type 2 diabetes mellitus patients at the Teluk Dalam Public Health Center in Banjarmasin. Data analysis using Shapiro Wilk with a significance level of 0.05 (5%). Results: The results of the study conducted education through media respondents booklet with a good category of 66.7%, enough categories of 26.7% and less categories of 6.7%. Open the educational media that influences the knowledge of respondents with a significant value (p = 0.000), a significance value of less than 0.05 (0.000 <0.05). Conclusion: The results of a statistical test on the significant influence on the level of knowledge about the debate on diabetic foot ulcers in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus at the Teluk Dalam Public Health Center in Banjarmasin before and given education through the media booklet.
