Abstract
DESCRIPTION OF THE SLEEP QUALITY OF DIABETIC ULCUUS PATIENTS IN THE TERATAI ROOM OF MUARA TEWEH HOSPITAL Gita Ayu Antika Putri 1, Warjiman 2, Dyah Trifianingsih 3 ABSTRACT Background :Diabetes mellitus (DM) can affect almost all groups of people throughout the world. High blood sugar levels really interfere with concentration to sleep well, due to the frequent urge to urinate at night, sometimes excessive thirst appears. Lack of sleep over a long period of time can exacerbate existing ailments and affect the length of the healing process. Objective :This study aims to describe the sleep quality of Diabetic Ulcer patients in the Teratai room at Muara Teweh Hospital. Method :This type of research is descriptive quantitative. The population is 75 people. The research sample was selected randomly purposive sampling as many as 30 people. Instruments used Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PQSI). The analysis used is univariate analysis. Results :The results of the frequency distribution of respondents' perceptions about the description of the sleep quality of diabetic ulcer patients, out of a total of 30 respondents, the majority of respondents had poor sleep quality as many as 25 (83.33%) respondents, good category as many as 5 (16.67%) respondents. Conclusion :It is hoped that nurses can add new knowledge to Diabetic Ulcer patients in order to improve their sleep quality, because sleep is very important, good quality sleep will make patients more comfortable living their daily lives. Kadar gula darah yang tinggi sangat mengganggu konsentrasi untuk tidur nyenyak, dikarenakan seringnya keinginan untuk buang air kecil pada malam hari, kadang muncul rasa haus yang berlebihan. Kurang tidur selama periode yang lama dapat memperburuk penyakit yang ada serta berdampak pada lamanya proses penyembuhan. Tujuan : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran kualitas tidur pasien Ulkus Diabetikum di ruang Teratai RSUD Muara Teweh. Metode : Jenis penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif kuantitatif. Populasi berjumlah 75 orang. Sampel penelitian dipilih secara purposive sampling sebanyak 30 orang. Instrument yang digunakan Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PQSI). Analisi yang digunakan ialah analisis univariat. Hasil : Hasil distribusi frekuensi persepsi responden tentang gambaran kualitas tidur pasien ulkus diabetikum dari total 30 responden sebagian besar responden mempunyai kualitas tidur buruk sebanyak 25 (83,33%) responden, kategori baik sebanyak 5 (16,67%) responden. Kesimpulan : Diharapakan perawat dapat menambah pengetahuan baru bagi pasien Ulkus Diabetikum agar meningkatkan kualitas tidurnya, karena tidur sangat penting kualitas tidur yang baik akan membuat pasien lebih nyaman menjalani kehidupan sehari-harinya.
