Abstract

FACTORS INFLUENCING STUNTING IN TODDLERS IN THE WORKING AREA OF THE KANDUI HEALTH CENTER YEAR 2023 Abdul Rahman Sidik¹, Sapariah Anggraini², Dania Relina Sitompul³. Banjarmasin Sanctuary Health Science College, 70119, Indonesia E-Mail : Abdulrahmansidik4@gmail.com Abstract Background: Stunting (short body) is a condition where a toddler has a length or height that is less when compared to his age. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that cause stunting in toddlers in the working area of the Kandui Health Center. Methods: This research is a type of quantitative research with a research design through a cross sectional approach. The research sample was 30 toddlers who were stunted or who had recovered from stunting. The instrument used by the researcher is in the form of an observation sheet (checklist). Results: The prevalence of stunting in the working area of the Kandui Public Health Center, from 30 respondents, there were 7 toddlers who were stunted (23.3%) while 23 toddlers were not stunted (76.7%). Conclusion: There are 3 factors that influence stunting under five, namely: mother's height, exclusive breastfeeding and monthly family income. While there are 2 factors that do not affect the incidence of stunting, namely: Age when the mother was pregnant and the water used daily. Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Kesehatan Suaka Insan Banjarmasin, 70119, Indonesia E-Mail : Abdulrahmansidik4@gmail.com Abstrak Latar Belakang: Stunting (tubuh pendek) adalah kondisi dimana balita memiliki panjang atau tinggi badan yang kurang jika dibandingkan dengan umurnya. Tujuan: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor penyebab terjadinya stunting pada balita di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Kandui. Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian melalui pendekatan cross sectional. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 30 balita yang mengalami stunting atau yang sudah sembuh dari stunting. Pada penelitian ini instrumen yang di gunakan oleh peneliti berupa lembar observasi (checklist). Hasil: Prevalansi balita stunting di wilayah kerja puskesmas dari 30 responden terdapat 7 balita yang mengalami stunting (23,3%) sedangkan ada 23 balita tidak mengalami stunting (76,7%). Kesimpulan: Ada 3 faktor yang mempengaruhi balita stunting yaitu: tinggi badan ibu, pemberian ASI esklusif dan pendapatan keluarga perbulan. Terdapat 2 faktor yang tidak mempengaruhi dengan kejadian stunting yaitu: Usia saat ibu sedang hamil dan air yang digunakan sehari-hari.
